Hey guys! I hope you’re all having a great week and enjoying your smoke because today I am going to talk about a huge topic that a lot of people have their own opinion on and are always in a somewhat constant controversial war with this topic. Hoses!
To start this blog I’m going to be describing 3 types of hoses today and how these hoses differ and what makes each hose better for your hookah session, As I said before I have three types of hoses in mind, the traditional Khalil Mamoon/Narbish Hose, the more modern D-hose Aluminum/Carbon 1 hose, and the most basic, the Mya hoses. Let’s do it!
So the first hose I’m going to talk about is the most traditional in my opinion. The Khalil Mamoon Hose and the Narbish Hose. These hoses are pretty much standard with every KM or traditional hookah you would buy, there are plenty of different versions of these but I find these two to be the most popular.
Khalil Mamoon Hose
The Khalil Mamoon hose has been around for quite some time and has sort of an impact on the hookah hose world, because it has been around longer than the newer hoses that are out. The KM hose is a standard cloth hose that can be bought either washable or non-washable(washable is recommended) and with the traditional non washable KM hose its plain and simple. Around 3-4 foot long hose that is made from a cloth sort of material. The plastic mouthpiece of the non-washable is not removable, its sealed off with water proof glue actually and the washable hose mouth tip is removable but instead of just that cloth material that the non-washable hose has, there is a silicon lining that is right below the cloth material so that it is fully washable and if washed correctly, will have no scent or taste of the older tobacco that was smoked originally. That’s where the Narbish hose comes in.
The Narbish hose created by HookahJohn is the same traditional old fashioned hookah hose but with a wider gauge than most of the traditional hoses, and is fully washable with the removable mouth tip. That would be the only difference between these two is that the Narbish is more malleable and is most likely to last longer than most of the other traditional hoses.
D-Hose Aluminum Version
The D-Hose created by Dream Hookah, aluminum version in my opinion is one of the most durable hoses out there, the hose is a 5 ½ foot long piece of surgical grade silicon that can withstand heat up to 400 degrees until it starts to melt, so if you drop a coal on it, it wont melt, unlike the traditional hoses that are wrapped in cloth. The handle is an aluminum handle that varies in color and is a very wide gauged mouth tip. Draw on it is fairly well, I enjoy it a lot and most would as well. One problem i do have with this hose is that its a pretty heavy hose, and because of this, usually while you’re smoking you’ll see the end of the hose that is connected to the hookah kink and block the flow of air just because of how heavy the silicon is. But other than that its a pretty great hose.
Carbon 1 Hose
The Carbon 1 Hose created by Apple on Top and the D-hose share some fairly noticeable features, the same surgical grade silicon that you’d find on the D-Hose, you’ll find on the Carbon 1 Hose. But, I feel with the carbon 1 hose, the silicon is thicker, yet lighter than the D-Hose. That kinking problem wouldn’t be found as frequently as the D-hose. The Carbon 1 Hose is a little shorter, about a foot or less shorter than the D-Hose and the tip of the hose is 100% carbon fiber with an aluminum mouthpiece. The draw is amazing and the look of the hose is rather exquisite. Both of these hoses are my favorite and are my daily go to hoses to smoke out of. Both are amazing in durability and washability, but for looks I’ll have to go with the Carbon 1 Hose, carbon fiber on a hose is just great to have and to look at.
And last but not least we have…
The Mya Saray Hose
Most of you have probably seen this hose at hookah lounges or any hookah-related businesses because it definitely is one of the most popular and one of the most beginner hookah hoses out there. The Mya Saray hose is a 4 ½ foot long hose and is made out of cloth with metal coiling to hold the hose together. What differentiated this hose between the others I’ve mentioned is the hose’s quality and material. I do not recommend washing this hose as there is metal coiling in the hose and washing it may cause it to rust and be inhaled. That’s definitely one of my biggest problems with this hose, the draw on the hose is fairly poor as it is very closed off and the tip is wood and the mouthpiece is aluminum. I will have to say this, If you smoke one tobacco such as Nakhla Double Apple, and you would be using one hose to smoke that one flavor. I would suggest getting this hose because its a cheaper alternative to smoking a specific brand and it saves the hassle in washing out a hose to change the flavor.
